About Us

Joe’s Chicken is Southern Fried Chicken at its very best. We used Bord Bia approved Irish chicken throughout our menu. Enjoy juicy marinated chicken that’s made to order, dredged in our southern spices and pressure fried until crisp and golden. Choose from classic Southern Fried Chicken pieces on the bone, Popcorn Chicken, Jumbo Tenders or heat things up with our Hot Chicken that’s dipped in fiery hot cayenne pepper glaze and served with a cool ranch sauce to bring you back down to earth.

Other delicious bites include loaded Chicken Burgers, Babyback Ribs, Nachos, Tater Tots, Dipper Chips, Mac & Cheese, Cajun Corn on the Cob and much much more. Plus we’ve a whopping 17 different dipping sauces to choose from, so there’s something to suit everybody’s taste.

Established in January 2021, Joe’s Chicken joined the Born In Bray family just as Covid Lockdown was imposed yet again. We wanted to bring a brand new wholesome takeout to the people of Bray who had supported our businesses during such a tough year. While everyone was stuck at home, we wanted to create a delicious takeout menu full of our favourite comfort foods. It had to be tasty, moreish and be something that appealed to the average Joe. And so the concept of a fried chicken came about. We enlisted the help of Box Burger Head Chef Mitch Clarke and Platform Pizza Head Chef Gregor Machynia, two greats with a passion for fried chicken! Along with the lads and our good friend Thom Lawson of Sprezzatura, we developed the idea and focused on sourcing the best quality produce, getting the perfect batter mix and creating a list of top-notch chicken dishes. The menu at Joe’s Chicken takes inspiration from American diners, where you would find traditional southern fried chicken, quality sides, classic shakes and pies.

Finally, all that was missing was a name… We wanted something that would remind us of home, something that was classic, friendly and personable. The first thing that came to mind was our Dad and father figure to all on Bray Seafront, Joe Duggan himself! We couldn’t think of a better namesake for something so comforting and friendly, thanks Joe.
